Job Functions / Responsibilities
+ Conduct Safety Inspections: Regularly inspect the workplace to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Document findings and report any issues to the safety manager.
+ Assist in Training Programs: Help develop and deliver safety training sessions for employees. This may include creating training materials, scheduling sessions, and tracking attendance.
+ Incident Reporting and Investigation: Assist in the documentation and investigation of workplace incidents. Gather information, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
+ Maintain Safety Records: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and other safety-related documentation.
+ Promote Safety Awareness: Actively participate in safety meetings and initiatives. Encourage a culture of safety by promoting best practices and raising awareness about safety protocols among employees
+ Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Skills
+ Knowledge of Safety Regulations: Basic understanding of health and safety regulations and principles such as OSHA/WA LNI, EPA, and NFPA standards.
+ Familiarity with Safety Management Systems: Basic understanding of ISO 45001, ANSI Z10, and MIL-STD-882.
+ Problem-Solving: Ability to develop practical solutions to safety issues and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
+ Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and database applications. Ability to learn other software applications as needed.
+ Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey safety information and collaborate with team members.
+ Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct risk assessments, analyze safety data, and participate in incident investigations.
+ Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Education
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, pursuing a degree in a degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental, Safety and Health, or a related degree. Preferably entering final year of degree program.

The salaries for intern positions are as follows:
+ Undergraduate Enrollment - $25 / hour
