Summer Sports Camp Winsor Clinic Therapist

Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the head physiotherapist, the Winsor Health Care Therapist will be responsible for handling medical emergencies, including acute injuries and providing first aid, for both Sports Camp participants and staff. This role ensures that the physical health and safety of participants and staff at the Sports Camp are closely monitored and well-managed throughout the duration of the program.

Primary Responsibilities:

Respond to medical emergencies at the different facility locations (indoors and outdoors) during Sports Camp that are communicated by phone, cellphone, and/or walky-talky.Using professional expertise, carry out the primary evaluation of acute musculoskeletal injury or trauma and provide high quality first aid care to the McGill Sports camp clientele.Develop an action plan and document all interventions and communicate these to the unit as required.Educate the ports Camp participant and their legal guardian on self-management and refer to the appropriate resource (therapist in clinic, doctor, emergency room, etc.)Collaborate and establish follow up with Sports Camp therapist.Use the established emergency action plan in place for the different areas.Oversee and manage the physiotherapy students and athletic therapist students with their intervention on Sports Camp participants.Assist with inventory of equipment/materials needs and maintain statistical data. 


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

Physiotherapist

Be a member in good standing with l’Ordre professionnel de la Physiotherapie du Quebec and Sport Physiotherapy CanadaUndergraduate degree in Physiotherapy or related fieldHave at least 3 years of experience of field work with acute traumatic injury management and emergency careHave a valid Sports First Responders certificationKnowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.

Athletic Therapist

Undergraduate degree in Science or athletic therapyBe a member in good standing with Corporation des Thérapeutes du Sport du Québec et de Canadian Athletic Therapist AssociationHave at least 3 years of experience of field work with acute traumatic injury management and emergency careHave a valid Sports First Responders certification.Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree 3 Years Related Experience /

Annual Salary:

(MPEX Grade 05) $70,820.00 - $88,530.00 - $106,240.00
