Summer Trainee, Service Operating Model​ 

to join the Service Operating Model team in the Global Service Business unit in Espoo, Finland. This is a full-time, fixed-term position lasting 4–5 months, starting May/June 2025. Occasional remote work is possible, especially in July.​ 

The Service Operating Model team is responsible to ensure that KONE’s Global Service business operating model elements are working together in an efficient and scalable way. The elements include data, processes, IT tools, organization, roles, governance and business performance management. The trainee’s task is to work on the documentation of the operating model to ensure it is holistic, up-to-date, and easy to keep up-to-date in the future. This role is critical to ensure the prerequisites for KONE Service Business’ sustained success are in place. 

In this position, you will gain holistic knowledge about KONE's Service Business operations and processes across functions and teams, and stakeholder management experience. 

Key Responsibilities and Activities:  

Review all the documentation of KONE’s service operating model (residing in SharePoints and process documentation repositories) and work with stakeholders to renew the documentation when needed and ensure it is stored in the correct location.​ 

Create a model and process for keeping the documentation up to date and create a plan on how to communicate and roll out the model to the organization.​ 

Support Service Operating Model team, Global Data Management program, and other Global Service business teams in possible other projects or ad-hoc support requests related to Operating Model documentation, communication materials, meeting preparation, etc. 

 

 

Qualifications:  

Bachelor’s or Master’s level student in Engineering, Economics or similar. Studies related to business operating models, strategy, digitalization, organization design, IT architecture, data management and process development are considered an advantage​ 

Systematic working style proven by excellent results in studies and/or previous internships​ 

Previous work experience from administrative back-office tasks, and/or a B2B service business environment, is considered an advantage​ 

Willing and able to perform repetitive tasks with stamina and precision​ 

Excellent skills in MS Office tools: Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint. Skills in using modern AI-based tools to speed up work tasks is considered an advantage​ 

Courage, agreeable working style and assertiveness needed to approach a wide group of senior stakeholders across the organization via multiple channels (phone, email, MS Teams) to request actions from them and follow-up on completion​ 

Excellent spoken and written skills in English (no Finnish skills required)
