Superintendent, Production

Has primary supervisory responsibility directly for an assigned production area. Performs administrative responsibilities including evaluations, training in safety and use of tools and equipment, motivation, counseling and disciplining of employees supervised.Accountable for the assignment and performance of subordinates, temporary staff as well as the work output of supervised operators. Set goals, ensures that they are met and is responsible for continuous process improvement. Exercises judgment in planning and organizing work; monitors performance and reports status. Uses best business practices to ensure success in areas of responsibility and to achieve increased productivity.Maintains a safe working environment and a strong customer focus. Trains staff in the proper use of tools and equipment. Ensures employee compliance with company policies, practices and procedures and regulatory as well as good manufacturing practices/ ISO 13845 requirements. Experience in medical industry will be added advantage.Conducts meetings with subordinates to communicate and address issues pertaining to the department’s operation. Informs management of any problems and provides the status of specific problem resolutions.Monitors inventory levels and ensures that all supplies, tools and needed components are readily available. Orders replacement materials as required.Investigates and resolves discrepancies regarding shortages, mixed part, incorrect counts and establishes procedures to minimize subsequent errors.Maintains appropriate records/documentation and ensures that they are current and correct.May be responsible for processes across organizational lines.May assemble new products to verify tooling and techniques are appropriate.Performs other related duties as directed or assigned.
Requirement:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management / Operations Management / Engineering, or equivalent study.Minimum 2 - 5 years related working experience in production & manufacturing supervisory roles.Good communication, numeracy and computer literacy skills.Good people management skills.Strong problem-solving skillsDevelop strong working relationships and trust in the team.Results and deadline-driven.Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointRequired skill(s): supervisory, people management, communication, capacity planning, problem solving, operations management.Must be able to work rotating 12 hours shifts
