We currently have a senior opportunity for a Production Superintendent/Alternate Underground Manager to join our Underground Mining team. This role is based at our Tropicana Gold Mine on an 4/3 days FIFO roster; where we fly from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.

Accountable to the Manager: Underground Mining, this role will take ownership in delivering the plan, by managing a team of mining engineering and working alongside with our mining alliance to safely deliver the intended outcomes.  Due to succession planning opportunities within our management teams, we are also open to look at higher level experience.
 

Role purpose:
The Superintendent/Alternate Underground Manager will play a key role in the development and ongoing success of underground mining operations at the Tropicana site. The ideal individual will utilise their broad range of skills and experience in underground mining to safely deliver key project milestones, production targets and cost targets whilst growing the production profile through the conversion of identified opportunities into firm plans.
 

Accountabilities:

Be a safety leader, in line with the companies values, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Hold the statutory appointment for the underground mine, ensuring compliance to WHS act and regulations. Manage a highly capable team of efficient mining engineers, technicians and graduates Delivery of mine budgets, reporting and key requirements pertaining to underground operations Build capabilities in the team and develop personnel withing the Mining Alliance Be an active leader in delivering our Full Potential program, by implementing and over-seeing improvement initiatives Identify and manage threats to the delivery of budgeted underground physicals

Behaviours and work ethic consistent with AngloGold Values Comprehensive working experience within the mining industry with a broad understanding of underground mining technical at management capacity Ability to successfully lead and support a team of up to 10 WA First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency (Mandatory) Competency with mine planning software, ideally with exposure to Deswik. Demonstrated ability to make sound and timely decisions, by quickly assembling the facts to develop action priorities Strong interpersonal, influencing, communication and motivating skills. Permanent work rights in Australia (Mandatory) A National Police Clearance
