Job Description
We are hiring a mid-level Superintendent to join our team in Virginia Beach. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial construction, specifically with hotels and multi-family projects. This role requires the ability to work independently and manage various aspects of construction projects effectively.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure all start packages are complete and accurate before construction beginsEnsure construction activity follows the established plan and scheduleMaintain current lead times for contractors and suppliersProperly schedule and oversee the completion of all municipal inspectionsEnsure cycle time goals are being metFollow company processes for internal in-lines and quality inspectionsEnsure all material deliveries are scheduled properly to avoid theft and damageMake certain material deliveries are accurate regarding quality and quantityProperly communicate material variances and returns per company policyReview applicable job-specific information with contractors prior to startingEnforce all contractors, scopes of work, policies and proceduresMaintain a mutually beneficial relationship between contractorsProvide written and verbal feedback on contractor performanceCommunicate any conflicts with the Operations ManagerMaintain established standards for community appearanceEnforce all job site rules and regulationsMaintain general construction budgetsMake certain all bills are approved only after completion of workEnsure all job site waste is properly controlledMake certain any back-charge process is being upheldHelp establish, develop, and utilize an effective written feedback system to improve plans, correct estimates, reduce recurring warranty and unwanted costsMake certain all construction sites are walked dailyAdhere to all phases of established quality control systemsEnforce quality standards for material and workmanshipEnsure all established processes and systems are followedHave full knowledge of all scopes of work, contracts, codes, and blueprintsStay current on all codes and code changesServe as a representative of the company and maintain a high level of ethics and professionalism in all interactionsMaintain necessary schedule to complete job responsibilitiesEssential SkillsCommercial Superintendent experience of 10+ yearsExperience with commercial projects such as restaurants, hotels, and multi-familyAbility to work independentlyConstruction management skillsExperience reading and understanding blueprintsGeneral contractor knowledgeExperience with ground up projects valued at $10M+Subcontractor managementAdditional Skills & QualificationsWillingness to travel as neededExperience in hotel builds is a plusExperience with site construction and construction supervisionCommercial Superintendent experience of 5-10 yearsExperience with multi-family and hotel projectsWork Environment
The work environment is primarily outdoors with working hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The role offers competitive pay, direct access to company ownership, opportunities for advancement, a vehicle allowance, and a technology package. The company is located in Hampton Roads and is growing rapidly.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/hr.
