Gilbane is seeking a Superintendent to independently supervise an area of trade contractors. This position will be on the job site every day and will fill a key role on the project team. Initially, this position will be on a six year, $4B healthcare project.

Responsibilities Directs the day-to-day coordination of Gilbane’s trade partners and their sub-contractors to ensure high-quality work that meets the approved project scheduleDevelops, documents, and communicates the work plan regarding changes made in the fieldMaintains a thorough understanding of contract documents in order to proactively anticipate potential problemsParticipates in constructability review and identifies change impactsObtains or verifies that subcontractors obtain all necessary permits for construction purposesActs as primary safety representative in the fieldEstablishes credibility among owners, trade contractors, unions, and other project partners by maintaining a fair and trustworthy environmentLeads contractor meetings on a regular basisMaintains daily reports and documentation using software toolsCreates, manages, and updates the project schedule, creating and implementing contingency plans when necessaryCommunicates schedule status, updates and changes to project team and trade contractorsPlans, coordinates, and manages jobsite logisticsOversees project quality plan, completes inspections, and implements necessary changesCommunicates with Site Services/Next 150 to order materials and schedule crewCoaches and mentors less Field Engineers on project needs, construction knowledge, and business acumenUnderstands scopes of work; assists in writing scopes of work and participates in buyoutAssists in Time and Materials (T&M) trackingLeads stretch and flex, daily huddle, and pre-task plan reviewsSupports a positive and inclusive work environmentMay be required to assist with tasks typically assigned to more junior positions Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management4-8 years of experience on $15-$30 million or larger commercial/industrial construction projects in a superintendent roleOSHA 30-hour certifiedSTS-C CertificationFirst Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed TrainingOr equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong technical and communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needsAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to collaborate on a daily basis with the project teamProficient in Microsoft OfficeKnowledge of suite of construction software tools, including scheduling softwareConstruction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of constructionExperience and proficiency in multiple divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost controlStrong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes and ability to enforce the project safety planAbility to create an environment where “safety first” is the culture and all trades people work with an incident and injury free attitudeUnderstanding of general requirements financial forecasting

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.    
For Minnesota, this ranges from $105,000 - $135,000 plus benefits and retirement program.

For (State in Tier 6) this ranges from $XX,XXX.XX-$XXX,XXX.XX plus benefits and retirement program.
