About the Role

Based in our Brisbane Office, this role offers a diverse range of opportunities and experiences in Control Systems and associated Operational Technologies spanning a wide range of our Mine Site & Non-Production Infrastructure Operations.


Reporting to the Manager Control Systems, the Superintendent Control Systems role provides specialist management capabilities ensuring robust change control of Control Systems platforms to deliver availability, reliability, project uplift and production improvements.


In this role you will:
 

Lead and manage Control Systems support engineers in the execution of their work duties, personal development and annual performance plans. Leading relevant Field Leadership and safety/risk management activities. Developing and managing control systems related budgets. Play a leading role in the management of control systems design (including PLC/SCADA coding and graphics) and commissioning for plant modifications and new equipment installations. Manage control systems support and technical assistance personnel for addressing breakdowns and production critical issues. Manage the investigation and identification of the root causes of downtime associated with control systems and developing/implementing solutions to prevent repeat events from occurring, eliminating defects, maximising Mean Time Between Failures and minimizing Mean Time to Recovery. Deliver initiatives to support continuous improvement focused on increasing safety, increasing reliability, increasing throughput and reducing risks associated with Control Systems and associated platforms. About You

You will be a motivated and passionate professional who is committed to technical excellence, operational support and sustainable improvement. Your management skills and team approach will enhance the contribution of the Control and Operational Technology Systems to the business.
 

You will have relevant industry experience with a demonstrated practical and hands on approach in Coal Mine Site & Non-Production Facilities spanning bulk materials handling equipment, coal handling preparation plants and draglines (or similar).
 

Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering / Control Systems Engineering or equivalent. Strong personnel management, leadership and problem solving skills. Demonstrating an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility, and sustainable development and technical regulatory compliance. Demonstrated ability to manage a large number of inputs and effectively prioritise high value-added / high risk issues for attention. Ability to work effectively and build relationships with people at all levels of the business.
 

Technical Experience/Proficiencies:

Experience with configuration and programming of applications/platforms including Citect SCADA/Plant SCADA, OPC servers/platforms, Virtual Computing platforms & environments e.g. Citrix. Experience with configuration and programming of various PLC Platforms (Rockwell AB, GE, Modicon & Siemens), Fieldbus networks (Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, Devicenet etc), Variable Speed Drives, analogue and digital actuators and sensors. Experience with Functional Safety Systems design and maintenance. Familiarity with Service Now (or familiarity with IT/OT Service Management tools) Strong experience with vendor and contract management practices & processes. Infrastructure management experience in IT and / or process control in a large and geographically distributed environment including Master Data Management & Reporting responsibilities etc. About Our Process
