Job Description

Seeking a suitably qualified, and reliable Superintendent-Electrical to oversee and manage all on-site electrical construction activities, and a recognized point of authority to the electrical engineering discipline,  ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. The role involves coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and project teams to ensure efficient workflow and resolving any issues that may arise during construction. The Superintendent is responsible for supervising daily operations, monitoring progress, and ensuring adherence to project specifications while promoting a safe and productive work environment.

The role will report to the Manager-Business Services.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

1. Facilitate the development, planning, and implementation of projects by applying best practices that lead to achievement of project and organizational goals.

2. Supervise the contractor’s performance by consistently monitoring the actual work done and assessing their consistency with service level agreements.

3. Review design engineering drawings and provide professional commentary.

4. Oversee, check, and validate that all electrical activities and deliverables are accomplished at the desired level of excellence that provides confidence to all stakeholders that the organization’s goals and objectives are being achieved and compliance to all regulatory, internal, and external stakeholder’s requirements is being maintained.

5. Identify, analyze, evaluate, and deal with risks relative to the achievement of goals and targets of the organization.

QualificationsBehaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way;Licensed Electrical Engineer.Preferably a Professional Electrical Engineer.Preferably with OSHA Construction safety certificationAt least 10 years of progressive experience in electrical installation, or construction supervision with a focus on large scale infrastructure projects and electrical installations.5 years of leadership or supervisory experience managing field personnel and subcontractors.Proven experience in construction project planning, scheduling, cost management, and risk management.Had previous work experience in metal & mining industry is an advantage.
