About Cadia


Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

Who we’re looking for  

 

Reporting to the manager – Asset Management, the Superintendent – Fixed Plant Shutdowns will be responsible for leading the onsite Fixed Plant Shutdown team to ensure safe execution of maintenance shutdown activities for the Cadia site plant assets (Processing and Underground).

Additionally, the Superintendent will identify improvements with regards to execution strategies and cost efficiencies within the shutdown framework.

 In this newly created position, you will be a motivated self-starter and have the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.

 

Key responsibilities include:

Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development.Lead Fixed Plant Shutdown teams and promote operating discipline related to the SAP work management processes, and Shutdown Management processes.Ensure maintenance teams understand the value of SAP work management and Shut processes and related metrics.Facilitate performance reviews, identify gaps, and engage the relevant stakeholders, including contractor partners, to ensure corrective actions are taken.Participate in the weekly shutdown planning and scheduling process meetings to ensure alignment and commitment of resources and plant to the work schedule.Ensure execution of maintenance activities in line with the shutdown schedules and minimise any unscheduled work requirements.Develop, communicate, and execute the Fixed Plant Shutdown work plan and allocate resources to ensure delivery.Play an integral role in developing budgets and forecasts for Fixed Plant Maintenance area and assist with the creation of overall department budget by reviewing the existing Work Plans and standalone Task Lists.Regularly monitor area expenditure/trends and put remedial controls in place to meet or decrease budget requirements. Contribute to the development and input into the Department’s succession plans.Lead, coach and mentor employees to deliver on plan and build a high performing team.

 

The ideal candidate will be a resilient people leader and have a strong focus on safety leadership with the agility to be able to manage a fixed and transient workforce.  

  

You will also possess the following: 

Qualification in relevant discipline (Trade or Degree)Significant operational fixed plant experience  Understanding of manual and computerised maintenance planning systemsDemonstrate an understanding of shutdown planning principles and best practicesDemonstrated experience with contractor management Strong understanding of long-term & strategy planning

 

 

Please note: This is a 5/2 or 5/2-4/3 residential role in Orange NSW. Due to the nature of the role it will be a requirement, to have flexibility in line with shutdown cycles & durations.
