Austin Bridge & Road has an opening for a Superintendent for heavy civil projects in the South Texas area. This position provides daily supervision for multiple construction crews and administrative positions engaged in construction of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, earthwork, pipes, and paving projects. This position has primary responsibility for achieving production goals, meeting construction schedules and meeting estimated costs.
This position will provide overall supervision and coordination on one large project or several small projects that require interfacing of heavy/civil road and other water projects. This position requires maintaining a strong working relationship with inspectors, developers, vendors, and subcontractors, so outstanding customer service skills are essential. This position has primary responsibility for achieving production goals, meeting construction schedules and meeting estimated costs.
Our superintendents provide overall direction and control of day-to-day field construction activities. This includes sequencing and coordination of the crafts in an efficient manner, allocation of manpower, materials, equipment utilization, overall management of the project safety plan and overall construction quality.
Responsibilities:
Jobsite Safety Quality Project Estimating and Start-up Inspection of field construction work in progress to guarantee high-quality workmanship Self-performed labor, material and equipment cost management Manage crews, equipment, material resources, and subcontractors Manage large salary staffs Manage large onsite equipment fleet Develop Project CPM Schedule and “Look Ahead” schedules Analyze Job Cost reports Directs field engineers in the initial survey and layout of the jobsite Inspection of field construction work in progress to guarantee high-quality workmanship Close-out activities (punch lists) Development of subordinates such as Assistant Superintendents and Field Engineers Liaison between owners, architects, suppliers, etc. Read and interpret owner’s drawings and specifications to ensure that staff and sub-contractors understand the job requirements and the approved Plans. Allocate equipment and materials to foremen. Monitor all aspects of cost and production and make corrections in the organization of manpower or methods as required to meet budget and schedule. Supervise Field Office Manager to ensure that all required records and reports are up to date. Ensure that all aspects of company's safety, OSHA, and E.E.O. programs are carried out on the jobsite. Coordinate and monitor the equipment and materials. Company policy compliance. Conduct Safety Meetings.Qualifications
