About the Role

 

Reporting to the Manager Mine Planning, this senior role will see you lead and develop a team to deliver mine designs and schedules that enable safe operations, maximise asset value and meet customer requirements.

You will have the ability to utilise your mine planning and leadership skills while gaining broad exposure across the operation, as well as influencing the performance & providing guidance to a high performing team.

This role is based at Goonyella Riverside, Australia’s largest autonomous haulage operation. A range of commute and residential options are available and an industry leading salary package.

 

In this role you will:


 
•    Provide leadership and effective management of the mine planning, scheduling group including safety performance, culture and continuous improvement plans;
•    Identify and implement Mine Planning improvement initiatives;
•    Support Compliance to Plan/Schedule process including performance reporting / production management;
•    Lead the identification and management of schedule risks, providing ongoing communications to relevant stakeholders and solution identification including prioritization and realignment of mine priorities;
•    Encourage and develop a collaborative relationship with operational managers to deliver the operational budget in accordance with changing conditions; and
•    Foster a safe to speak up environment to team members to work effectively with customers to achieve the best business outcomes.

About You

 

You will have significant mining industry experience, an overriding commitment to safety and a deep understanding of the key value drivers and mine planning strategies in the open cut coal industry. RPEQ status will be viewed favourably as will operational exposure.

You will have a strong desire to mentor and lead a team and may have previous experience in a leadership role. You actively engage your stakeholders and enjoy collaboration and networking.

You will be a performance and achievement oriented professional, who is motivated by exceeding expectations and achieving excellent results.
