Your training, skills, and experience checklist

 

The primary skills discussed include process operations management, safety procedures, and compliance with environmental regulations. Considering the operational oversight aspect of the role, the accepted body of knowledge, such as formal education qualifications in Process or metallurgy engineering or related fields, should be taken into account to support these activities within your organization. Include required knowledge that has been gained through work practice with operational scheduling, budget management, and process optimization. Essential soft skills for leadership and support functions should be included. Ensure that proficiency in these knowledge areas, including risk management and staff training, is clearly described.

For this Superintendent Process Operations role, the applicant must demonstrate advanced proficiency in these areas. Practical application proficiency in operational scheduling, compliance with environmental regulations, and budget/resource management that best supports these activities within your organization. The role also necessitates familiarity with risk management and process improvement, including the ability to carry out specific activities using appropriate tools and processes to achieve defined business outcomes.

 

Working Conditions and Location

This position is located at Merian, the project site. Merian is a remote site located in a warm, humid tropical rainforest environment.
The Merian mine is located in Northeastern Suriname, approximately 98 kilometers southeast of the capital city of Paramaribo and 60 kilometers south of Moengo.
Accommodation is in a camp/village environment near the workplace 
Suriname has a tropical climate with dry and two rainy seasons with anticipated tropical rainfall of 1.5m to 2.5m of rain per year.
This is a national position, with no expat benefits. The incumbent is expected to spend most of her/his time in the field. The position may require traveling to the Denver corporate office and assisting at other American sites.
