About the Position

Distribution Operations technology programs, with particular focus on ADMS, SCADA and outage management applications.  This includes the oversight of ADMS systems and related integrations.  The Supervising Engineer is responsible for the direct supervision of engineering personnel in the Distribution Operation SCADA team. This involves working collaboratively with external Design, Construction, Operating, Maintenance, and internal Distribution Operations workgroups. This position is also responsible for developing and/or supporting Technical Strategies related to the electric grid of the future as it relates to Distribution.

Key responsibilities include:

Responsible for Program Management for such Distribution Operating initiatives such as ADMS, DER Management, Distribution Automation (DA), etc.Providing direct supervision, employee development, and training to the SCADA engineering team.Providing technical support to Distribution Operating in the areas of DER's (Micro-grids), outage, SCADA, RTU’s, ADMS Switching, providing training and support to the Distribution Operating groups on the proper operation of Distribution Automation technology.Interfacing with various vendors to determine the appropriate application of DA, DERM's, ADMS, and other technologies.Contribute to the development and achievement of Distribution Operating Department goals.

Subject to call out during emergency response events and other operating emergencies. Travel with the use of personal vehicle is required.  Will be in a five-week duty rotation and responsible for supporting Distribution Operations. 

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university required.  Professional Engineer (P.E.) License preferred. Five or more years of utility operational/engineering experience required. Experience in areas such as:  Substation, System Relay, Underground, Overhead, or Generation is preferred. Strong understanding of network infrastructures and communications platforms is preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Must be able to manage multiple projects and priorities while consistently creating a quality work product; Must be capable of using independent judgment and the ability to work through ambiguity; Ability to adapt to change is critical; Must possess good organization, prioritization, decision making, communication, and human relation skills; Proficiency with MS Office Suite; Knowledge of specific Ameren applications (e.g., ADMS, OAS, etc.); Demonstrated R&D Skills is preferred; and the following Ameren competencies: Think Customer, Inspire and Engage, Foster Innovation, Drive Results, Champion Learning, Build Trust, and Be Strategic.

Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process.  Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:

$128,700.00 - $199,500.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
