In this role, you will lead and manage scheduled maintenance, first response, and reactive activities to minimize disruptions to customer operations. You’ll also manage subcontractor maintenance delivery and undertake asset management activities in a self-performing capacity. Operating in a challenging environment with conflicting priorities and multiple stakeholder demands, you must effectively plan, organize, and prioritize your work to meet strict deadlines and provide timely, accurate information to all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Prioritize safety above all with a commitment to achieving Zero Harm. Engage in hands-on maintenance tasks based on the maintenance schedule. Lead by example to ensure maintenance services align with Downer Values and organisational standards. Work autonomously during shifts or on-call, demonstrating self-sufficiency and accountability. Ensure maintenance and repairs are completed promptly and efficiently, minimising downtime. Support contract delivery by providing solid technical solutions and supervising subcontractors to ensure high-quality service. Adhere to operational parameters related to time, materials, costs, and resources while carrying out assigned tasksThe operation is staffed across 3 shifts, and you need to be flexible to share an on-call roster.

Holds a current trade qualification Mechanical, electrical, or related field, with experience in the facilities management industry. Proven leadership experience with a multi-trade service delivery team. Strong customer-centric approach and high emotional intelligence, enhancing team performance and collaboration. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, fostering effective communication. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple demands, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Proficient in MS Outlook and MS Excel. Working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 Holds a current full driver’s license. Experience with Health & Safety management (JSA, SWMS, etc.).
