Summary
Supervisor, Advanced Practice Professionals (APP)
This position will support our APP practice in our Moffitt Ambulatory Centers (known as MACs) in the Department of Ambulatory Hematology and Oncology which includes our practice at Moffitt Wesley Chapel (MWC), Moffitt International Plaza (MIP), Moffitt Satellite Oncology and future MAC at SouthShore. The MAC APP Supervisor will work with department leadership to build expectations for APP practices and policies at MACs, ensure consistency in the practice and utilization of APPs, and manage the APPs, including both inpatient and outpatient individual physician assistants and nurse practitioners at these locations.
In addition, this position serves as an APP, practicing medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center (MCC). This position provides patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Medical Group and serves as a member of the academic medical enterprise, advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer.
Position Highlights:
This position will have 50% dedicated administrative time for their supervisory and administrative duties and responsibilities. This position oversees Advanced Practice Professional (APP) recruitment, performance, orientation, training, call coverage, time-off requests, and allocation for physician(s). Assists Physicians with the evaluation, management, and treatment of a wide spectrum of patients with different medical problems, procedures, and co-morbidities. Works within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of supervising physician(s) or by specific protocol(s).The Ideal Candidate:

Provides supervision to APP team, performs annual reviews, recruiting, training and scheduling coverage. Partners with department leadership to develop practices, policies and ensures consistency within the APP practice. Provides patient care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with many specialists to coordinate and optimize patient care. Correlates subjective and objective data to formulate a differential or working diagnosis. Formulates treatment plans for medical conditions within scope of practice. Prescribes oral and IV medications when appropriate, within the scope of practice. Documents patient care in accordance with medical staff rules.Credentials and Qualifications:
Active BLS and ACLS. Minimum two (2) years' experience as an oncology mid-level provider (PA-C or APRN) required. Minimum one (1) years' experience in specialty required Compliant with the use of EHR systems and knowledge of the mid-level (or "APP" - advanced practice professional) scope of practice guidelines as well as the medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations. Demonstrated leadership skills, such as leading projects and serving on committees. Licensure, certification, registration as an NP or PA and able to practice in the State of Florida. Supervisory experience preferred.
