Your Role:

 

Millipore Sigma, Round Rock, is seeking to hire an experienced Analytical Scientist/Supervisor for its Analytical Quality Control (AQC) operations. The individual will be responsible for assisting the Quality Control Manager for oversight of operations within Quality Control.  This includes personnel management, safety, quality, scheduling, budgets, metrics, regulatory compliance, and testing. Specific responsibilities include:

 

Solve problems, optimize processes, develop new processes and prepare proceduresScheduling production projectReviewing test and validation plansLeading out-of-specification investigationsProviding guidance and oversight to direct reportsHelp develop strategies and plans to optimize group performanceSupport the development of team membersOversee the maintenance and qualification of analytical instrumentationReview data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with quality requirementsManage method development and validationRespond efficiently to evolving priorities

 

 

Physical Attributes:

 

Work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or hazardous chemicalsParticular vision specifications: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision, and adjust focusMay wear: air helmet, mask, safety shoes, apron, rubber and Tyvek suits, protective gloves, safety glasses, or gogglesOccasionally lift/move up to 40 pounds

 

Who You Are

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other Life Sciences discipline10+ years experience performing quality control and/or analytical chemistry in a regulated environment (i.e. GLP, GMP, ISO)1+ years of experience directly supervising or managing personnel

 

          OR

 

Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other Life Sciences discipline 8+ years experience performing quality control and/or analytical chemistry in a regulated environment (i.e. GLP, GMP, ISO)1+ years of experience directly supervising or managing personnel

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Experience in an analytical lab analyzing neat materials and finished product in Quality ControlProficiency in technical fundamentals, organizational skills, documentation, and effective communication Experience in analytical chemistry techniques including HPLC, GC, LC-MS, GC-MS, IR, ROI, LOD, Karl Fischer, NMR, ICP, IC and GC-Headspace
