Automation Supervisor
The Automation Supervisor oversees the programming, deployment, implementation, and maintenance of all automated systems. The successful candidate will be the liaison between the Automation team and the cross functional departments within the facility. They will assess the needs of the teams, assign the appropriate Technician, prioritize the projects while managing costs and hitting timelines. This is a leadership role, and the Automation Supervisor leads a team of skilled and unskilled workers as well as contracted third party vendors while also assuming Technician duties as part of the day-to-day functions.

Performance Expectations
· Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facility’s geographic location and:
o The Global Operating System Plays.
o OHSAS 18001: Health and Safety management system standard.
o ISO 14001: Environmental Management system standard.
o TS 16949 Technical Specification Management and Linamar Quality Basics system standards.
· Support, Foster, Promote and Demonstrate Linamar’s Core Values and Leadership Behaviors.
· Maintain balance between customer, employee, and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility/department Performance Indicators to align to Linamar’s Stepping Stool of Success Strategy.
· Support and maintain department lean initiatives as set out in LPS system requirements.
o Maintain department 5S requirements.
· Responsible to oversee, mentor, train and direct all staff.
· Responsible to ensure employees are working safely and following all applicable policies.
· Supervise the development, installation, and maintenance of automated systems.
· Liaise with engineering teams to ensure best practices are followed and designed for manufacturing/ ease of maintaining equipment.
· Effective employee relations including handling employee complaints, obtaining help and guidance for employees with problems.
· Responsible to support internal projects as well as any support required from other Linamar plants on their automation projects.
· Willingness to travel to sites to supervise work.
Credentials
· Post-secondary education in a related field such as Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
· Trade certification in related fields would be an asset.
· Minimum 5 years’ experience working in automation within an industrial plant or similar environment.
