**Job Summary**
The Supervisor, Business Office provides leadership and operational oversight for business office functions, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of financial and administrative processes within Revenue Cycle Services. This role supports key activities such as billing, denial management, and accounts receivable operations while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. The Supervisor works closely with teams to implement process improvements, monitor performance metrics, and support specialized functions such as billing or denial resolution.
**Essential Functions**
+ Supervises day-to-day operations of the business office, such as billing, denial management, or related revenue cycle activities, to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
+ Monitors and evaluates team performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and implements improvement strategies as needed.
+ Ensures compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies related to revenue cycle and business office functions.
+ Supports specialized functions, such as billing reconciliation, denial resolution, and accounts receivable management, providing guidance and oversight to staff.
+ Analyzes operational data to identify trends, resolve issues, and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
+ Trains, mentors, and develops team members to ensure high performance, professional growth, and alignment with organizational goals.
+ Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, including payers, providers, and other departments, to address escalated issues and improve workflows.
+ Assists with audits, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to compliance standards across all business office functions.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Complies with all policies and standards.
**Qualifications**
+ H.S. Diploma or GED required
+ Associate Degree or higher in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred
+ 3-5 years of business office experience in the assigned area (billing, collections, customer service, patient access, or reimbursement) required
+ 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
+ Strong knowledge of revenue cycle management, billing processes, denial resolution best practices, CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9/10, and medical terminology.
+ Ability to interpret financial and operational data to drive improvements and support decision-making.
+ Leadership and supervisory skills to guide and develop staff effectively.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills for engaging with internal teams and external stakeholders.
+ Proficiency in relevant business office systems and tools, such as billing software and electronic health records (EHR).
