Job Description
Supervises and coordinates the staff and daily operations of the Cardiac Services department. Ensures efficient operations by monitoring equipment and other resources, patient flow, and customer service, as needed. In collaboration with Nurse Manager, develops policies and procedures relevant to department operations and safety.
Job Responsibility
Promotes Cardiac Services department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members. Leads the activities of assigned Cardiac Services team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives. Supervises patient flow to and from labs. Ensures staffing levels are maintained by considering employee skill levels, patient mix and employee time off schedules accordingly. Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of the staff. Oversees and documents staff performance in a timely manner. Conducts department staff meetings and in-service education in order to promote communication regarding policy changes, departmental goals, new projects and management activities. Collaborates with stakeholders to develop policies and procedures relevant to department operations and safety; implements performance improvement plan; maintains and updates standards of care that meet or exceed industry standards and reflect compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements. Make suggestions for improvements to the leadership. Supervises daily quality assurance by ensuring equipment is functioning per specifications. Contacts biometrics and service field engineers to resolve problems with equipment. Maintains appropriate usage and par levels of stock and equipment. Performs related duties as required. Job Qualification
Vocational or Technical school Diploma required. Specialized license and/or certification, required. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Professional Certification, required. 4-6 years of technical experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required.
