Supervisor for Urinalysis, Serology, Coagulation.  Regularly utilizes the lab computer for various aspects of daily work and verifies completion of work by various computer programs.  Able to work in a generalist capacity, adhering to standard lab practices. Must be able to work in all sections of our fast-paced laboratory. Work load includes Stat and ER testing, routine AM testing in all sections of the Lab.  This includes Blood Bank and limited Microbiology. Supervises and performs necessary quality control procedures and maintains records; performs and records instrumentation maintenance; troubleshoots instrument problems

Responsibilities

Supervise daily operations, maintain policy manuals and Lab readiness for inspections. Train new staff members and document performance.  Manage all department functions in the assigned sections of the Lab. Able to maintain customer service standards, work independently, including weekends.

Qualifications

Five years acute hospital experience preferred as a CLS.  Two years in a supervisory role preferred. Microbiology and blood bank experience required. Bachelor's Degree required. Master degree preferred. CA licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) required; ASCP certification preferred.
