Supervisor, Commercial Operations - Automation

Summary:

The role of the Supervisor is to serve as a player/coach, driving the responsiveness of their assigned Commercial Operations team to support overall bookings' growth. In addition to maintaining responsibility for some quoting activities, this position will focus on building a highly responsive and customer-driven team.

The team will be dedicated to providing our Flowserve sales organization, customers, distributors, and 3rd party representative channel partners with technically sound and competitive quotation solutions for all relevant Actuation and Automation Services enquires. Additionally, the team will ensure the transfer of complete and accurate order entry files to our operations for execution.


Responsibilities:

For pre-defined accounts, the Supervisor will be responsible for reviewing RFQs and issuing quotes for the supported products.

Drive timely responsiveness to all viable quotation opportunities, including tracking the response time of the Commercial Operations team based on agreed-upon standards.

Manage the review of all valve and actuation orders for completeness and correctness, and assist in resolving any issues to ensure proper order entry, including providing clean Order Transfer files to Order Management within the agreed-upon time frame.

Coordinate and approve commercial terms of purchase orders and/or contracts, including SAP generation and approval, and resolve any respective terms and conditions issues based on Flowserve guidelines.

Implement and oversee a continuous training program to ensure team members are properly applying their technical expertise and commercial knowledge during quotation preparation.

Ensure that team members are updated on techniques for utilizing respective configurators, sizing, and selection tools required for proposal generation.

Guide team members in applying best practices for sizing, selecting, and quoting the most suitable Flowserve FCO products.

Ensure that applicable industry standards are correctly applied.

Coordinate any schools conducted at the operation to ensure they are informative and beneficial to all attendees (Flowserve direct or 3rd party sales personnel).

Develop team members to continuously enhance and improve their performance.

Work closely and develop strong business relationships with key members of our operations, sales, and engineering management teams to help drive the success of our FCO organization.

Continually analyze and track the results of our pricing and quotation practices, including generating win/loss quotation hit rates, to enhance effectiveness.

Track, monitor, and review the performance of your individual direct reports through our performance management review process, including assigning measurable goals and focused accountabilities.

Monitor the progress of each team member throughout the year per our HR guidelines and processes.

Collaborate closely with our outside sales organization to enhance communication, project pursuit, collaboration, and overall selling efforts.

Comply with Flowserve goals, objectives, and policies, and manage your respective team members to adhere to the same standards.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

BS or BA degree in a relevant field and/or 10 years of related experience.

Proven success in both inside and outside sales roles.

Knowledge and experience in serving various process control markets relevant to the assigned products and/or region.

Experience with valve service and repair.

Experienced in any type and brand of valves, actuators, controls, sizing and selection. Flexible, quick, responsible and accurate. Proactive and customer service oriented.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.

Detail-oriented with a proven track record of completing assignments accurately and on time.

Basic understanding of commercial issues, including payment terms, shipping terms, and contract review.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet usage, and the ability to learn and adapt to new business software as required by the role.


Preferred Experience / Skills:

Project Management experience is a plus.
