Job Description

ITW is seeking a Supervisor, Corporate Accounting to be a part of the Corporate Accounting team. The individual will have a strong understanding of financial processes within a large multinational corporate environment, strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated analytical skills, and be able to work independently. 

Core Responsibilities:

Monthly/Quarterly/Annual close processes including preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliationsRecord equity compensation activity including monthly amortization, equity exercises and vestings, Director plan activity, basic and dilutive share calculation and prepare annual 10-K disclosure footnoteSupport corporate departments including monthly reporting, accruals and forecast adjustmentsManagement of GL system including account maintenance, system parameters, close procedures and reconciliation to consolidation systemIdentify areas for process improvement and streamlining to increase efficiency of department procedures and processesPrepare Corporate and domestic payroll entries and maintain payroll bank account reconciliationAssist in preparation, consolidation and analysis of annual Corporate PlanAssist with various projects, internal and external audit requests, ad hoc projects and assignments as they develop

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business in finance or accounting is required, CPA a plusMinimum 5 years relevant corporate and/or industry experience; experience in Corporate Accounting and/or business analysis roles a plusMinimum 1-2 years experience with equity compensation accountingEffective time management skills to manage multiples priorities and deadlines simultaneouslyStrong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a diverse and multicultural environment are essentialStrong analytical skills and business/financial acumenAttention to detail, with high standards of accuracy and reviewExperience handling highly sensitive information with integrity and maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalismHigh level of proficiency in utilizing Excel, including advanced formulas and basic macros; demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics GP and Oracle HFM a plusAbility to be in the office at the Glenview campus 5 days a week with flexibility on hours.Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to research and follow-up timely and independently on pending items
