**Responsibilities:**
General Purpose:
Provides support services to individuals utilizing UR Medicine Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services. Provides supervision to clinical EAP staff members. Under the direction of the EAP Director, and with significant autonomy, provides operational direction to ensure clinical and service excellence. Participates in formulating policy and establishing procedures and participates in the acquisition, orientation and training of new staff.
Subscribes to the Department’s goal of creating a culturally competent environment by treating patients/families, trainees, research subjects and co-workers in a sensitive and caring manner with appropriate attention to cultural differences.
Participates in available cultural competence events and trainings.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
+ Directly supervises clinical staff in assigned clinic, including orientation of new staff. Supervises the development and implementation of specific EAP counseling goals for clinical staff. Participates in hiring and termination decisions regarding clinical staff.
+ Monitors implementation of policies and procedures in assigned clinic. Serves as primary consultant to other direct service clinical staff. Coordinates urgent care, access to treatment, special arrangements and complicated cases’ needs. Oversees and coordinates the mandates process. Conducts service recovery and handles complaints.
+ Demonstrates effective and competent presentation skills and delivers clear, engaging workshops.
+ Provides organizational and clinical support during a crisis for all levels of the system. Serves as back-up on call clinician alongside department leadership. Serves as primary consultant for critical incident responses and conducts critical incident responses.
+ Conducts leadership consultations regarding mental health and well-being for contracted organizations
+ Maintains active case records including clinical notes and correspondence.
+ Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to:
+ Participate in marketing and outreach efforts
+ Leading team meetings
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Master's degree with major course work in mental health counseling and 5 years of relevant experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
+ 5 years related of combined clinical and/or supervisory experience, including EAP counseling experience, or an equivalent combination of
+ education and experience required.
+ Working knowledge of core clinical components of EAP work: including working with individuals, couples, families, and in performing consultations to varying levels of leadership preferred.
+ Demonstrated ability to provide organizational and clinical support during a crisis for all levels of the system preferred.
+ Demonstrated competency in presentation skills to deliver engaging workshops required.
+ Clinical supervision skills, or participation in weekly supervision of supervision for one year preferred.
+ Demonstrates cultural humility and anti-racism values and works toward ensuring all patients feel welcome preferred.
+ Either NYS Licensure as a mental health practitioner, or Certification as an Employee Assistance Professional required.
+ If licensure or certification has not been obtained upon employment, the individual has 6 months to obtain the NYS license required.
