Monterey Park Hospital, located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is recruiting for a Laboratory Supervisor. This position is full time and for variable shifts. Monterey Park Hospital is a 101 bed acute care community hospital. Monterey Park Hospital has provided our community with advanced medical and culturally sensitive healthcare services for over 50 years.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Lab Director and medical direction of the Medical Director, the Laboratory Supervisor ensures prompt efficient and accurate performance of laboratory testing services within the laboratory. Responsible for the overall laboratory quality control and quality assurance program. Provides necessary and appropriate supervision of all laboratory personnel in holding staff accountable for their job responsibilities. Coordinates the Lab Point of Care with the Nursing Department and is in charge of the laboratory Proficiency Testing Program. Performs other duties assigned as needed.

Qualifications

A. Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Science; such as Biology, Chemistry, Health Science or related field required (need copy)

 

B. Minimum Experience: One or more years experience as a Clinical Lab Scientist preferred. Previous lead or supervisory experience required. 

 

C. License/Certification: Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist license (CLS) from the State of California Department of Health Services.  ASCP certification preferred.

 

D. Other: Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English required.
