Supervisor, Material Management & Procurement
The Supervisor, Material Management & Procurement will drive the replenishment of make and buy parts to acceptable inventory levels while providing leadership and training direction to direct reports. This role is crucial in sustaining processes, improving operations, and ensuring optimal inventory management without negatively impacting production. Introduction & What you will do: + **Inventory Management:** + Drive replenishment of make and buy parts to maintain acceptable inventory levels. + Oversee accurate real-time inventory management and ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) concepts for stock rotation are followed. + **Leadership and Training:** + Provide leadership and training direction to direct reports, ensuring process sustainment. + Review direct reports' accuracy and urgency in their roles. + **Process Improvement:** + Make recommendations to management regarding process improvements. + Lead Focus Factory Daily Management meetings focused on inventory management. + **Kanban Oversight:** + Oversee Kanban audits and reporting of Kanban countermeasures. + Act as the point of escalation for “point of use” material shortages. + **Delivery Tracking:** + Track OTD (On-Time Delivery) of consignment inventory receipts. + Oversee escalations to receiving teams and material handling teams for urgent part receipts. + **Communication and Collaboration:** + Interface and communicate effectively with the production team to align on material needs. + Collaborate with the Planner/Buyer team to ensure seamless material flow and procurement. + **Corrective Actions:** + Issue corrective actions as necessary to address inventory discrepancies or process inefficiencies. + **Business Partnership:** + Partner with the business to understand new product releases and seasonal trends to maintain inventory levels that support revenue and working capital goals. + **Adaptability and Decision-Making:** + Handle fast-paced working environments with changing production demands and flex working hours as needed. + Take responsibility and make decisions that impact inventory management and procurement processes. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:** **Skill Sets:** + Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and train others. + Excellent oral and written communication skills. + Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access). + Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and methods. + Ability to problem-solve using Kanban systems and address abnormalities effectively. **Education:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field (preferred). **Experience:** + 2 years of materials warehouse experience in a Pull Replenishment environment is required. **PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:** + A team player mentality with strong negotiation skills. + Self-motivated with a contributor outlook and a high achiever mentality. + Technically capable of quickly grasping new concepts. **WHO IS GILBARCO VEEDER-ROOT** Gilbarco Veeder-Root, a Vontier company, is the worldwide technology leader for retail and commercial fueling operations, offering the broadest range of integrated solutions from the forecourt to the convenience store and head office.
