The Supervisor of Materials Management is responsible for providing leadership which results in cost effective, efficient management of materials resources to support the entire hospital.

Responsibilities

Developing and implementing materials management strategies in line with organizational objectives to improve performance of the department

Monitoring the quality, quantity, cost, and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods, ensuring supplies are safe for patient use.
Coordinating the order cycle, and utilizing the operational system to scan in and out all orders that arrive at the facility, are stored at the facility, and provided to the departments.
Analyzing data to monitor performance and plan improvements to utilize the operating systems to ensure orders are made based on demand and existing par levels.
Managing staff and overseeing their training and development.
Liaising and negotiating with customers and suppliers.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Managing budgets and timelines within the department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field of study


EXPERIENCE:
2-3 years of supply chain, materials management, or logistics experience
1-2 years of supervisory experience required
 
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE:
 Keyboarding and Computer skills including use of spreadsheets, word processing and database
software, and ability to use the operating system to manage inventory
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills
 Must be able to organize, document, analyze and present information and reports to a variety of
professionals
 Customer service and detail oriented
