Team Overview

Work with a highly motivated team of individuals who are responsible for the fulfillment of media content to NBCUniversal’s distribution outlets, including its broadcast and cable networks, owned television stations, international global networks, and online destinations including Peacock.

NBCUniversal is seeking a Supervisor, Media Operations, to join the leadership team that encompasses all aspects of the digital supply chain: Client & Vendor Relations, Quality Control, and Delivery to clients all around the world.  This team manages and maintains our media library for all shortform content across linear and digital, while serving as liaisons between vendors, Sales operations and internal Technical Operations teams for domestic, local, and international fulfillment across the portfolio. As Supervisor, Media Operations, you will be part of a 24x7 driven and highly motivated team that supports the fulfillment of media content to NBCUniversal’s distribution outlets.

Responsibilities

Supervise and lead a team of coordinators to successfully execute on the departmental goal of 99.999% reliability. Supervisory responsibilities include hiring, training, scheduling, coaching and performance management of a team of direct reports.  Perform day to day operational coordination such as scheduling and ensuring proper troubleshooting and escalation of operational issues.  Lead and serve as a project manager for department initiatives such as new workflows or technology development and implementation.Responsible for ensuring the creation, implementation and maintenance of SOPs.With support of the team Specialists, ensure that all coordinators receive proper training while maintaining training matrix and assigns training sessions.Act as an operational lead on outage bridges as required, identifies patterns and conducts root cause analysis recommending process/technology solutions to prevent further instances of similar problems. Identify areas in new or legacy workflows where improvements can be implemented to improve productivity.Serve as a lead representative of the Media Operations Center, providing customer service excellence that entails timely responsiveness, succinct follow ups, and building strong relationships with customer base and peer groups.All other duties as assigned.

QualificationsBA/BS in relevant field or equivalent relevant professional experience requiredMinimum 4 years professional experience in a broadcast, postproduction, or digital media prep environmentMinimum 2 years leadership experience in a fast-paced environment including a demonstrated ability to lead people and/or projects, influence others, problem solve and adapt to changing scenarios while maintain professionalism during challenging and stressful situations A track record of meeting or exceeding performance expectationsMust have flexibility with work schedule; must be able to work late hours, overnights, weekends, holidays and occasional special events when needed for 24/7 operationsMust be willing to work in Englewood Cliffs, NJMust have unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States.

Prior experience in broadcast scheduling or traffic, media ingest, or on-air operationsBackground in customer service or a client facing roleKnowledge and understanding of various digital formats, codecs, industry standard toolsPrior technical experience with media asset management and workflow systemsAbility to troubleshoot and think outside the boxExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interface with multiple departments, clients, and vendorsAbility to maintain composure and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.Ability to adapt to new and changing workflows and software implementationsAbility to multi-task and balance numerous priorities in a deadline-oriented environmentAn acute attention to detail and a knack for cross-referencing and identifying inconsistencies, coupled with the ability to anticipate and report potential issues and concerns proactively.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
