Supervisor, Network Distribution

Job Summary:

The Distribution Network Supervisor is responsible for managing the inventory levels and distribution of product to the global Distribution Centers (DC). This position will oversee the Distribution Network team and use key metrics and KPI’s to lead a data-driven, organized, and efficient distribution team. 

The Supervisor will work cross-functionally with other departments (Planning, Production, Warehouse) as well as externally with Suppliers, Freight Forwarders and Logistics Carriers to carry-out the in-bound and out-bound distribution plans in a timely manner. This position will also be responsible for monitoring the daily operations and identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement to ensure the success of the team.

This position must have strong analytical skills, and be able to not only identify trends and risks in a timely manner, but also to effectively train and monitor the performance of the Distribution Network team to meet company objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead an organized and data-driven Distribution Network team with clear goals and established KPI’s to track performance. Ensure that all DCs maintain appropriate stocking levels at all times; potential risks or shortages are identified in advance and a timely action plan is put into place to replenish stock on hand . Maintain an effective working relationship with DC managers, Planning, Production & Warehouse/Logistics teams. Responsible for identifying appropriate KPI’s, as well as a reporting method, to track the service level of our DCs as well as the performance of the distribution team. Monitor and adjust stocking strategies based on changing trends, inputs and business needs. Measure and project the distribution & warehouse team’s throughput and capacity compared to business needs, and work with appropriate cross-functional leaders to resolve any bottlenecks. Optimize total distribution costs by making timely and strategic decisions with company objectives in mind. Identify opportunities to improve the current processes and systems.

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience: 

Minimum Qualifications:

Three (3) or more years of related experience as superintendent on warehouse, distribution, fulfillment center, transportation logistics, or supply chain experience. Strong Interpersonal skills – the ability to work well in a team, as well as to manage and motivate others. Proficient in problem solving, and ability to make quick and effective decisions. Strong analytical aptitude with a proven ability to analyze/interpret data.  Well-developed organizational, priority management and planning skills. Flexible and creative mindset, with the ability to propose and implement innovative ideas. Ability to develop reports and analyze large data sets using analytical and statistical tools. Highly analytical, high ethical standards, organized individual with ability to process details efficiently and accurately and exhibits excellent follow-up. Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation) with ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

Five (5) or more years of related experience as superintendent on warehouse, distribution, fulfillment center, transportation logistics, or supply chain experience. Demonstrate intermediate to advanced skills when utilizing Microsoft Office Professional products. Demonstrated proficiency for all minimum qualifications listed above.

Bachelor’s Degree

Physical requirements/Work Environment 

This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking.  Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required.  May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities.  Some local travel may be necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver’s license is required.
