Supervisor, Nursing RPH - Cardiac Catherization - Full Time
Position Summary: The Supervisor for Radiology Nursing is 80% Clinical and 20% Administrative. Administratively, the Supervisor for Radiology Nursing is responsible for the overall management and general operations of Radiology Nursing Management Services at Robert Packer Hospital. Under the direction of the Radiology manager, the Supervisor collaborates with imaging staff and physicians in the provision of optimal nursing management that is in compliance with all regulatory agency guidelines. In addition, the Supervisor coordinates the maintenance of patient/device interaction through biomedical and psychosocial interventions. Clinically, the Supervisor for Radiology Nursing provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment. Accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence‐based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan. Practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice. Essential functions and specific skills for the job are found in the unit specific onboarding checklist and in standards that are applicable to the specialty. Education, License & Cert: A Bachelor of Science Degree is required. Experience: Registered Nurse with a bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred), five years clinical experience and demonstrates the following: organizational and time management skills, effective oral and written skills, process improvement knowledge, computer competence, and venerable interpersonal skills. Experience in Interventional Imaging procedures preferred. Essential Functions: 1. Employs Nursing Professional Practice: Assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements and evaluates patients’ care. Develops, updates, and coordinates the patients’ plan of care to achieve patient goals and to optimize outcomes and transitions across the continuum. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Performs and maintains the currency of essential competencies as required by a specific are of hire and population served. 2. Effectively advocates for ethical and holistic care by partnering in care planning t promote the autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs of those we serve. 3. Works collaboratively with physicians, administrators, and other healthcare providers in the development and execution of all programs in Imaging, to include Radiation Oncology. 4. The RN will maintain competencies based on age specific criteria for radiology department which include: ACLS, Clinical Competencies, Equipment Competencies, Moderate Sedation. 5. Promotes services that focus operations and resources around the care of our patient population in order to provide a superior service to the community and the patients in which we serve. 6. Utilizes the nursing process for patients undergoing radiology procedures. 7. Participates in education requirements. 8. Acts as a liaison between Radiology and Nursing divisions.\ 9. Participates int eh development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures. 10. Participates in Radiology, hospital, and nursing committees. Participates in the on‐call rotation for Radiology nursing coverage. 11. Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate diagnostic testing and consultations based on patient’s clinical history and recommended guidelines. 12. Coordinates and participates in monthly staff meetings.
