What you will need:
Education:
High School diploma or GED
Associate degree in business or healthcare (Preferred)
Experience & Skills:
Minimum of two years of registration, scheduling, patient accounts, cash collections, insurance benefit verification, and/or customer service experience
Minimum of one year of leadership experience
Expert-level knowledge of third party payer requirements and online benefit verification
Expert-level knowledge of health insurances, and basic medical terminology
Experience as a front-line user with Epic Resolute Hospital Billing, ADT / Grand Central (Inpatient and Outpatient Admission, Discharge, Transfer), Prelude (Inpatient and Outpatient Registration), or Cadence (Scheduling) … (Preferred)
General Summary:
Supervises staff at all points of service performing registration functions. Oversees the registration process and ensures delivery of patient to area of service without delay of treatment. Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures. Provides day-to-day supervision and training of staff. Creates and keeps current at all times, staffing schedule, policies and training manuals. Supervises staff to maintain database integrity by entering correct patient and financial information in addition to correct medical record and/or account numbers. Monitors patient volume and delegates accordingly.
Monitors and audits Registration work queues as well as reports, trends and issues. Monitors and provides statistical reports as directed by management. Works as liaison between physician offices, patients and multiple revenue cycle and clinical department staff to ensure good flow of communication, updates to insurance payer/plan guidelines, and other pertinent information. Researches accounts for other areas within the system to determine reasoning for denials and remedy. Acts as second level contact for escalation requests and monitors staff performance and enforces compliance of all departmental policies and procedures and corporate philosophy.
