The Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, Campus Operations Department is seeking a Pool Operations Supervisor to be responsible for the efficient and effective use of the school’s dive training facility. Duties involve all pool operations, including first aid/CPR, personnel rotations, scheduling, limited pool maintenance including daily chemical analysis/testing, and all other duties as necessary or required.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Establish and maintain efficient scheduling of pool facility for activities by coordinating with RSMAS Dive Safety Office and other user groups.Determine, enact, enforce and ensure that pool safety practices are followed.Performs water tests, calibrates automation, and trains designated staff in procedures.Checks pool motors and pumps to ensure they are operational.Oversees the maintenance of pool chemistry and circulation at proper levels.Inspects and maintains chemical feed systems, pool fittings, and hardware.Maintains pool plans, technical specifications, and maintenance and construction history.Orders supplies, conducts inventories, and maintains purchase records.Responds to service calls or routes work orders to appropriate personnel and/or vendor.Assists in the development of plans and methods to attract outside entities for use of the facility according to strategic plans and within University guidelines and policies.Works with RSMAS Campus Operations Office Manager on billing, payments and maintaining of financial records relating to pool facility.Assist in hiring, scheduling, and leading a team of certified lifeguards

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.Commitment to the University's core valuesMust have knowledge of water hazards, lifesaving techniques, and first aid.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent required.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experienceFirst Aid/CPR certificationLife Guard Certification Certified Pool Operator Certificate (preferred)
