Overview of the role:
This role forms a key part of our leadership team. The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading our production employees and overseeing the day-to-day operations to ensure objectives are met for quality, safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in the processing and packaging of our products.
Schedule: Rotational
Week 1: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 3pm-3am
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday 3pm-3am
Salary: $76,265.00 - $95,330.00 - $114,395.00

Ensures the safe, efficient and effective use of the workforce, equipment and material resources;Provides leadership, direction, guidance, supervision, evaluation, motivation and training of production employees.Schedules equipment and personnel to ensure production requirements/targets are met on a timely basis;Effectively uses operational data daily to measure and communicate trends; reinforces positive results and initiates corrective actions as appropriate;Prepares effective written communication including work procedures and notices to progress reports for senior management;Ensures that both Company and Governmental quality, sanitation and environmental standards are met through close liaison with Quality Assurance and Technical Services Department, as well as frequent review and implementation of such Policies;Liaises with the Maintenance Department to minimize downtime and ensure product safety and quality;Ensures safe conditions at all times; takes appropriate action to protect the health and safety of employees;Reviews and maintains inventories, monitors daily sales projections, ensuring adequate stock of all products;Responsible for personnel management including recruitment, performance and disciplinary, time and attendance and labour planning;Supports and maintains Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P.’s quality standards;Builds and maintains effective internal and external relationships and other duties as required.You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
Post-secondary education in Food Sciences, Dairy Technology, Microbiology or other related education/experience;Minimum of 3 years’ progressive experience in Dairy or Food manufacturing environment;Thorough knowledge of Dairy operations with emphasis on processing and sanitation;Demonstrated leadership skills, preferably in a unionized environment;Must be self-motivated, results oriented, possess high degree of initiative, work well under pressure;Strong team orientation and proven leadership skills; Superior communication and interpersonal skillsProficient computer skills (Microsoft Office) analytical and organization skills;Available to work on a monthly rotating shift (day and afternoon shifts);We support employment equity.
