Job Description

How will you make an impact?

As the second shift Supervisor, Production Coding and Finished Goods Inspection at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the flawless production and inspection of clinical trial label variable printed labels. You will be responsible for meeting safety, quality, production, and financial targets, while also working closely with the department manager to develop and implement strategic and tactical activities. Your proven analytical and problem-solving skills will be essential in maintaining excellent performance and driving continuous improvement.

What will you do?

Supervise the second shift variable data and inspection activities in various operational and inspection areas. This includes overseeing the use of advanced technologies like cold fusion printers, digital inkjet printers, reorientation label application machines, digital presses and various inspection systems.Analyze production performance indicators, establish triggers, and implement sustainable corrective actions to enhance quality, reduce waste, and improve efficiencies.Collaborate proactively with the team, internal customers, and peers to drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize operational efficiencies.Foster a culture of accountability and data-driven decision-making.Support the manager in leading and promoting process improvement initiatives to achieve strong safety performance, product quality, finance, and process efficiency.Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (Wis), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Quality System guidelines, and safety standards.Maintain a safe work environment by actively engaging associates in reporting potential safety hazards, following EH&S guidelines, and emphasizing safe work habits and conditions.Strengthen vendor relationships for existing equipment and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for future equipment using PPI.Take charge of the daily production schedule, addressing any obstacles to timely completion of jobs, and collaborating closely with cross-functional departments to meet business objectives and customer deliveries.Assist and support the department manager in investigating internal incidents, customer complaints, and change controls, and prepare reports while assigning responsibilities for corrective and preventive measures.Analyze nonconformances and observations to facilitate the identification and implementation of corrective actions, while tracking and trending non-conformances, complaints, and internal investigations.

How will you get here?

Education:Minimum of 3 years in manufacturing operations leadership, with a proven track record of working effectively with individuals at all levels and functions of the organization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong knowledge of manufacturing environment operations and management.Familiarity with label manufacturing, printing, and inspection technologies is preferred.Experience in people leadership and excellent interpersonal skills.Understanding of cGMP practices and leadership.Ability to collaborate with management on projects, expansions, and equipment upgrades.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Willingness to travel up to 5%!
