Supervisor, Shipping

Come join our growing team in Laredo, TX!  Due to expansion, we are currently seeking a Shipping Supervisor. In our refrigerated facility that operates 24/7, you will oversee the shipping of our greenhouse grown tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers to our valued customers in a timely and safe manner.  This role reports to the Manager, Shipping

 

 Full-time shifts:  - Sunday - Tuesday and every other Wednesday 1:00PM-1:00AM (night shift)

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

Follow commodity specialist allocations and change orders; ensure product is slotted/shipped correctly.

Utilize NAV-JDA ERP system to track, analyze and route orders; conduct analysis, run reports, enter data.

Inspect labels, barcodes and other components of a completed order.

Supervise and oversee the work of employees on your shift.

Create regular reports and statistics as requested by the manager.

Ensure the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment.

Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information, as well as other Company data, including personal information.

Responsible for maintaining the spirit of teamwork and productivity among fellow maintenance personnel in accordance with Mastronardi Produce

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

 

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Supply Chain/Logistics Management, Business or related field is preferred. Will consider work experience, in lieu of a degree.

A minimum of 3 years’ work experience in a shipping/receiving or related environment; food industry experience is preferred. Previous experience in a production environment is preferred.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a lead or supervisory role.

Possess leadership skills with an emphasis towards respect and professionalism as you interact with employees, customers and vendors.

Computer proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point; with adaptability to learn new systems quickly. Experience with NAV ERP a plus.

Assist with warehouse needs as requested by management

Must be a self-starter and willing to work flexible hours; rotational shifts, weekends, holidays, etc.

Proficiency in use of English language with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.

Spanish as a second language is highly desired.

Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Need to be creative, adaptable and able to accurately work with a sense of urgency.

Ability to operate a forklift or can be trained to meet certification standards to operate a forklift.

Complete a background and drug test screening.

Must have manual dexterity to perform computer skills.

 

 

Working Conditions:

 

Environment includes an expansive refrigerated warehouse, where the temperature averages a constant 55 degrees (except office areas). The background noise approaches 70 dcbs.

Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. with or without accommodation

Position requires sitting, standing, walking and bending, squatting, and crawling on a regular basis
