Shipping and Receiving Supervisor
Job Summary
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for assigning the line drivers and warehouse drivers to the position which best suits each individual, per their experience. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for all incoming material, which includes checking for accuracy of all incoming shipments, tracking on a material receiving log, assigning lot control tags or serialized barcodes utilizing the computer to receive the material in the system and assuring the material is put in storage using the FIFO system.
Responsibility
Ensures controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. Responsible for all outgoing shipments to be scheduled. Responsible for physical inventory throughout the entire shop floor, which currently are being held on a semiannual basis. Maintaining a 100% accurate inventory on all service parts which are extremely long lead time items. Receive all incoming material properly, ensuring that it is received into the system properly. Inspection of all material to ensure that is shipped to the customer, correctly, with all tags properly affixed to the containers. Daily inventories, which includes cycle counting when assigned Maintain constant warehouse organization ensuring FIFO is being followed. Provide coaching, leadership, and training to all warehouse personnel including but not limited to HiLo drivers. All duties assigned by Manager
Academic/Educational Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business management degree preferred but will consider comparable experience and education.
· At least five years’ experience in operating forklift trucks in a high paced manufacturing environment.
Required Skills/Experience
· Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
· Ability to train other employees, as needed.
· Ability and willingness to adhere to all safety rules and regulations including but not limited to completion of all forklift inspection sheets.
· Ability to work 10-hour shifts and weekend hours, as needed or required.
· The Forklift Operator will be required to work extra hours depending on production schedules and/or cover for other Forklift Operators vacation at the discretion of the supervisor, timely notice will be given
· The Forklift Operator must not leave the work area unless approved by the Shipping Supervisor
