Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of Sterile Processing, supervises the day to day operations of the Sterile Processing Department on all shifts. The Sterile Processing Department is responsible for the Decontamination, Set Assembly/Preparation, and Sterilization of all medical equipment, surgical instrumentation, and operating room Case Carts.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of a course in sterile processing required.
Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent experience in Sterile Processing or Operating Room will be considered in lieu of education.
Experience:
Significant experience (usually 1-3 years) in Sterile Processing and/or Operating Room required.
Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Licensure and/or Certification:
Sterile Processing Technician certification required.
Sterile Processing healthcare leader certification strongly preferred from International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
Skills:
Excellent customer service skills.
Knowledge of sterile processing and regulatory requirements.
Outstanding communication skills.
Data processing experience required.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and direct staff.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
Computer skills required.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
