Reporting to the Event Manager, Turnaround, the Turnaround Supervisor is responsible for leading the development, planning, and safe execution of one turnaround every two years. This position leads a team of Turnaround Coordinators and Planners and oversees several contract personnel according to the turnaround phase and scope of work. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong blend of proven supervisory and interpersonal skills, highlighting their ability to lead with efficiency. Excellent communication and reporting abilities, both written and oral, will contribute significantly to your success in leading toolbox and update meetings. Organizational skills, resource management acumen, and foresight will be integral to the your leadership approach, particularly in fostering a safety-focused environment. Candidates must excel in problem-solving and decision-making, ensuring smooth operations and effective resolution of challenges in their role.
What you will do:
Lead the development, planning, and safe execution of one turnaround every two years following Nutrien’s turnaround program
Exemplify safety leadership through Nutrien’s Culture of Care and The Nutrien Way
Responsible for quality of work in planning and execution
Work with the Event Manager, Accounting, and Controls Team to establish cost and schedule controlling and reporting systems to meet KPIs
Develop a staffing plan and strategy
Support turnaround scope of the work identification process in consultation with Planning Coordinators, operations, maintenance, and engineering teams
Support integration of MRM and capital project execution activities
Coach, communicate, motivate, and manage the performance of direct reports
Participate in process mapping for plant start-ups, shutdowns, capital projects, and critical path work
Control the addition or removal of work scope
Facilitate turnaround leadership team meetings and daily execution update meetings
Lead multi-discipline planning and execution teams
What you will bring:
High School diploma
Valid provincial or inter-provincial Journeyperson trade ticket or technologist certificate
10+ years experience in an industrial enviroment with 5+ years of relevant turnaround experience
Working SAP knowledge, scheduling, maintenance plans, task lists, and materials ordering
Level of knowledge with Primavera/Impress tools scheduling tools
