Supervisor, Warehouse Operations

This position is responsible for delivering APLL commitment to key customers, meeting day to day operations requirements of the customers. The position manages a team of logistics coordinators to achieve operations excellence through defined and agreed processes. Supporting the Operations Manager, the position oversees operations for estimated 30,000 sqm of warehouse space in the greater Ho Chi Minh city area. Assisting the Operations Manager to ensure service providers meet or exceed operations metrics. The position helps to coach, train; develop logistics coordinators to be qualified to handle customers’ logistics requirements.

Supervise others working within established operational systems. Manage a medium-sized, medium-complexity warehouse and stores using existing procedures, and develop new procedures when required, to ensure that all goods and supplies are stored and recorded appropriately. Cultivate an understanding of packaging needs and develop ideas for prototypes to support the packaging process. Manage inventory for a major site or large factory, following existing procedures to identify any issues and solve problems. Explain the local action plan, to support team members in their understanding of what needs to be done, and how this relates to the broader business plan and the organization's strategy, mission, and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals. Assign short-term work schedules to a team of subordinates in order to achieve expectations while following established timelines. Carry out a range of inventory-control activities either to support others or to fulfil the requirements of the role. Follow the organization's health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviours within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate. Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance; or monitor the performance of the team, allocate work and review completion, take appropriate corrective action to ensure timeliness and quality, and contribute to formal individual performance management and appraisal. Identify, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate. Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfil personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media. Periodic review of costs and revenue, conduct benchmarking exercises and ensure APLL continues to be competitive in the marketplace. Conduct periodic reviews and training to services providers, customs, and warehouse labours.
