JOB SUMMARY:

Implements polices and guidelines in operating processes to prevent losses resulting from error or information systems breakdowns. Ensure that employees abide senior management's directives when performing duties and oversees staff work to ensure that employees meet weekly or monthly sales and production commitments. Champions a clear channel of communication and coordination between functional counterparts in the plant, engineering, finance, manufacturing, operations, and quality.  Responsible for cross-functional coordination and specification of effective processes and standards for support departments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Establishment, implementation and adherence of all departmental policies and procedures and addresses any non-compliance issues immediately. Oversees the implementation and adherence of procedures, goals, and objectives within the department. Establishes daily, weekly, monthly production targets production planning provides via SIOP. Collects and maintains data and metrics on daily management boards and provides manager with corrective actions needed when production targets are not being met. Leads rework and scrap reduction teams and collaborates with other departments for overall systemic corrective actions to reduce the cost of non-conforming product. Leads Kaizen and TPM events to improve OEE and cost reductions. Reviews and distributes production orders to meet productions schedule, quantities, and specifications of products for delivery. Ensures production priorities are staged in work centers with flow coordination and adherence of dispatch reports and critical priority lists. Manages labor, assets, and material to ensure absorption targets are met. Uses operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications. Assists manager to resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Collaborates with project team leaders, engineering and maintenance to ensure project completion by deadlines. Provides critical support as needed in other departments throughout the organization. Inspects machines and equipment for safety and ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Audits workers and processes to ensure compliance with standards and provides feedback to employees and manager. Directly supervises production employees.  Responsibilities include new employee orientation, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and recognizing employee accomplishments, addressing concerns and resolving problems; issuing discipline in accordance with Company policy and escalating performance, code of conduct or safety infractions to manager. Supervises an effective team; includes planning and holding meetings, preparing and conducting performance appraisals as appropriate, managing staffing levels (including vacations, overtime, and leaves of absences), assisting with career development (motivates, coaches, and trains to acquire maximum quality, productivity, morale, and cooperation), approving time and attendance, and prioritizing and making work assignments. Participates in interview process for open manufacturing positions. Provides effective feedback to employees, both positive and negative. Maintains appropriate documentation for all disciplinary actions taken. Directs training and orientation of employees to ensure EHS rules are known and understood, to improve work performance, and acquaint employees with company policies and procedures. Maintains compliance with the collective bargaining agreement. Interfaces between management and union officials.  Handles grievances. Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and practices. Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operations, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Promotes EHS and continuous improvement initiatives and culture.
