SupervisorReq #:0000179417 Category:No Category Assigned Status:Full-Time Shift:Day Facility:RWJ New Brunswick Department:Patient Transport Location: Morris Cancer Center, 165 Somerset Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08901 Position Summary: Shift: 8a - 5:30 Responsible for the effective daily coordination and monitoring of Patient Transportation services activities through timely and accurate dispatch and management of customer transportation requests and efficient assignments of transport personnel and equipment, Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Supports transporter staff with transporting, dispatching and equipment, Customer Relations Resolves problems related to patient, visitor, staff or employee complaints; resolves problems associated with Patient Transport Services; recommends and participates in the solution of on-going problems or trends Operation Excellence Acts as a positive role model; possesses integrity, focus, commitment, flexibility, diplomacy and a team spirit, Is reliable and trustworthy, Demonstrates and promotes the culture, values, and management philosophy in conjunction with the resident facility, Proactive in the achievement of the departmental goals and objectives, Understands and facilitates organizational and departmental mission and values, Exhibits excellent telephone etiquette and listening skills, Displays interpersonal savvy, Maintains professionalism at all times, Knows how to diffuse high-tension situations, Utilizes effective dispatching logic in prioritizing tasks, dispatching assignments to the appropriate personnel in order of availability and proximity while maximizing productivity, Monitors task and personnel status in accordance with budgetary objectives, Drives quality and continuously improves departmental performance through effective monitoring task and personnel status in accordance with quality standards and budgetary objectives, Identifies problems, conducts research, resolves or makes recommendations to direct reports, Maintains a safe, healthy, orderly and pleasant work environment for staff; ensures dispatch equipment is safe and in good, clean working condition; provides and maintains adequate levels of supplies and equipment, People Management Assists in orienting, training and developing transporter staff Motivates staff to function as a team in achieving goals and maximum productivity, Encourages and nurtures associate morale within the department Monitors associates productivity status in accordance with departmental quality standards and ensures that they area consistently achieved; interacts daily with nursing and other support departments; ensures the delivery of quality and timely service to patients, physicians, visitors and staff; participates in performance evaluations of transport personnel, Adheres to and promotes associates compliance to standard universal and disease-specific precautions and the OSHA blood borne pathogen standard; work to comply with all federal and state regulatory agencies, Administration Understands and applies knowledge of basic patient transport concepts, infection control practices, and proper body mechanics, Understands and is able to determine, explain and develop dispatcher logic and transporter activities; acts as a transporter when necessary, Demonstrates personal computer literacy and basic knowledge of Microsoft office, Ensures proper operation of EPIC, software programs, rovers and phone handling systems; is able to troubleshoot and work with Information Systems, Peripheral Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure all equipment stretchers and wheelchairs are in working order and tag out when appropriate, Ensure all equipment stretchers and wheelchairs are staged in appropriate areas Monitors supplies and equipment; makes purchases recommendations when necessary, Education, Training and Experience: Preferred High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience, RWJBarnabas Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer
