Position Summary:
Provides supervision of day-to-day functions of laboratory operations accounting staff. Oversee the preparation of reports, balance sheets and income statement. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory standards. Ongoing monitoring of assigned department performance standards regarding timeliness, appropriateness, and cost effectiveness. Is the recognized resource of the department for problem-solving.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Laboratory accounting team to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and accounting standards.
2. Prepares or coordinates the preparation of the financial reports that summarize and forecast the laboratory’s financial operations.
3. Assist with financial audits conducted by regulatory agencies and independent auditors.
4. Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls, and checks.
5. Provide highly responsive and user-friendly customer service, both internally and externally.
6. Maintains technical proficiency in how to produce the total end product of assigned function and maintains proficiency of use regarding organizational products.
7. Assists staff in handling difficult situations, answering questions, interpreting plan language, and guiding them with resolution of complex issues.
8. Leads according to established policies, procedures and guidelines using tools provided in a fair and consistent manner. Ensures staff perform within compliance policy and procedure guidelines.
9. Assist with financial transactions to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and accounting standards.
10. Assists with the monthly general ledger transactions and preparation of the financial statements.
11. Assist with Financial Audits.
12. Other duties as assigned or when necessary to maintain efficient operations of the department and the Company as a whole.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or health care related field.
• Two (2) years’ experience in accounting roles
• Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP, financial management and analysis principles and techniques
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous health care experience.
