The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Supervisor at our Orlando, FL location. Our Abbott Rapid & Molecular Diagnostics site in Orlando is part of Global Business Services. This group is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experiences and creating business value through compliance, standardization, and data analytics. We foster a collaborative, team-focused environment where employees are encouraged to develop and excel. As an Accounting Supervisor, you’ll oversee the accounting operations for multiple entities, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. You’ll also drive process improvements, implement new accounting technologies, and lead projects.

What You’ll Work On

Direct the day-to-day operations of direct reports

Recruit, train and provide development, performance management, supervision, and mentoring for the accounting team

Ensures that proper internal controls are operating effectively

Responsible for the implementation of new controls as needed

Build and enhance relationships with internal business

Verify accuracy of accounting entries and proper reporting of financial results

Review and analyze financial statements and trends

Identify areas that need improvement and take action to bring improvements to life

Support ad-hoc requests by business leadership

Ensure a timely and accurate upload to the corporate consolidation system (Hyperion)

Oversee preparation and submission of monthly & quarterly corporate packages

Design reports & analytical measures to report and improve on performance metrics

Support the financial planning and analysis team with the budget & forecast processes

Participate in all Site Audits and develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external auditors

Maintain the month end documentation to comply with GAAP

Manage multiple priorities and demands under tight timelines

Collaborate with other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives

Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy

Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions

Required Qualifications

BS in Accounting / Finance required

5+ years accounting/financial planning and analysis experience required

3+ years leading teams or projects

Advanced experience in Excel and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Access, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

CPA and/or MBA preferred

Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, standards and regulations

Experience with accounting software and databases

Superior data management and data analysis skills

Strong work ethic, uncompromising integrity

Excellent attention to detail

Well-organized, highly accountable, and self-motivated

Excellent analytical insight, prioritization, and problem-solving skills

Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills

Experience presenting and analyzing large quantities of data with strong spreadsheet and/or database query experience

Able to manage multiple, competing priorities while maintaining data accuracy and meeting deadlines

Action-oriented individual with the perseverance to push high value projects through to completion

Extensive experience with SAP, SAGE and HFM preferred

Business Analytics tool experience (PowerBI preferred)

The base pay for this position is $85,300.00 – $170,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
