This is a salaried position. Overview POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of designated departments. Assists the Manager in financial, capital and human resources to ensure services meet established quality and productivity standards. Ensures the provision of high quality services in accordance with Medical Center and regulatory requirements. The position is responsible for all aspects of personnel management and supervision. Perform laboratory bench assignments as needed. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate degree in a science field such as Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, or Chemistry. Alternative associate degrees will be considered with 1 year experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting. Other Licenses/Certifications: ASCP, AMT, or Other Board Certification for positions overseeing speciality departments. Maintains current certifications according to guidelines established by appropriate certifying agency if required by department specialty. Experience: 1 year of experience in a laboratory or healthcare field. Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science with successful completion of ASCP or AMT Board of Certification exam. Experience: 2 years experience in a supervisor/leadership role, including coaching/mentoring competencies. Experience leading to competency in project management, performance improvement, and quantitative analysis. Ability to develop and sustain strong staff and interdepartmental relationships.
