Summary:
The supervisor will manage a team that works on various pipeline and storage-related construction projects. The incumbent should be self-motivated and have a high regard for safety and integrity.
Essential Functions:
• Detailed knowledge of company policies and procedures, industry practices, construction standards, welding procedures, and OSHA rules and regulations.
• Manage the daily activities, roles, and responsibilities of contract construction inspectors so projects are completed successfully, and objectives are achieved.
• Responsible for construction activities being compliant with the appropriate standards, procedures, policies, and regulations.
• Effectively manage the bid process, selection of contractors, and the use of service providers to ensure cost effectiveness and compliance with the policies and procedures.
• Manage productive and cooperative working relationships with other departments so project requirements are met.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Construction knowledge of pigging, processing plants, dehydration plants, field compression, separation, tank battery facilities.
• Construction knowledge of pipeline repair and installation of new pipelines.
• Construction knowledge/procedures with new well connects.
• Respects and effectively interacts with team members and customers.
• Good understanding of federal and state codes and regulations for the pipeline industry.
• Supervise team(s) of both contract and full time to work on various pipeline and storage related construction projects.
• Support Plant and Field Managers with the construction portion of the group’s responsibilities.
• Evaluate and recommend feasibility of existing and new construction projects.
• Assure all construction projects and associated equipment is operating properly by identifying, reporting, and resolving matters with maintenance, operations, and technical personnel.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate projects for budgetary cost, environmental exposure, and project progression timelines.
• Must be willing to work overtime and handle callouts
• Other duties as required.
Essential Requirements: Experience, Educational & Special Training Required:
• High school education or equivalent.
• 8+ years of related experience.
• Strong understanding of the execution of construction contracts
• Strong understanding of the facilities and equipment in a crude oil pipeline/storage environment.
• Must be team oriented, self-motivated with a strong commitment to safety, operational, and environmental policies.
• Ensure regular and effective safety, regulatory and industry practice training for Construction Team.
• Good written and verbal skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Effective use of computers/software
• Attention to detail with strong analytical, business, and entrepreneurial skills.
• Good understanding of federal and state codes and regulations for the pipeline industry. Supervise team(s) of both contract and full time to work on various pipeline and storage related construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local codes and regulations.
Preferred Skills:
• 5 years construction industry experience preferred
• 5 years natural gas plant/pipeline industry and/or oil/gas industry experience
• Experience working with pressure vessels and equipment
Working Conditions:

• Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
• Occasional overnight travel may be required
