ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads, directs work, coaches, and trains the shift crews to include the corrugator, laminator, and shipping areas; ensures the safety of all employees. Complies with all applicable plant and OSHA safety rules. Ensures the quality of corrugated board manufactured according to industry and customer specifications. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Create and maintain a cross training plan within the shift to provide ongoing continuous employee education. Explore continuous improvement opportunities. Oversee personnel using performance development reviews and recommending pays raises. Track and manage plant waste, down time, and optimal speed; analyzes data. Complete reports using the computer by utilizing email, word, and excel.

Education/Experience:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The individual must have knowledge of the computer, Microsoft Word and Excel and email. The individual must have a strong commitment to safety with a belief that all accidents are preventable. The individual must be knowledgeable of corrugated manufacturing practices, procedures, and the quality process. Prior work experience in a corrugated manufacturing plant, preferred. Demonstrate full understanding of wet end and dry end operation of a corrugators. Must be able to troubleshoot root causes of machine problems. Demonstrate knowledge of paper weights, size, liner, medium, kraft, white and special exceptions Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of customer requirement recognizing what is conforming and nonconforming material. Demonstrate ability to read a production schedule including special instructions. Demonstrate awareness of schedule and what is needed to satisfy the customer. Must have a working knowledge of the overall machine both mechanically and operationally. Proficiently inspect and clean machine for optimal performance Demonstrate a full knowledge of paper quality standards and combined board quality standards.
