Role Overview/Summary: 

We are looking for a Design Supervisor to join our team to lead the Design Team Operations. You will help support the rapid growth of the Spark and Digital Orthodontic business unit of Envista. This individual will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Costa Rica designers, and their Productivity and Quality metrics.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for 30-60 Operation’s member group can include: designers, Setup Leads, QA Leads, Clinical members, and others.Responsible for 3-4 setup leads to support designer inquiriesReports to Costa Rica Design Group Leader.Adhere to the Envista corporate model: S-QDIP – Safety, Delivery, Quality, Inventory, and ProductivityConduct Daily management meetings within the department along with area leads.Work collaboratively with other functions, including: Clinical Quality, Operations Quality, R&D, Manufacturing, Project Management, and Human ResourcesResponsible for managing and reducing cost to design productCoordinate and improve flow within design using kaizen and standard workRegulary use LEAN tools such as daily management and kaizen (5S, Standard Work, Kanban, etc)Perform employee trainings and maintain training recordsEnsure compliance with all company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent mannerMaintain and approve attendance for employeesPrepare work and shift schedules including overtime as requiredCommunicate with employees including distributing all company memos and pertinent informationProvide feedback to Manager on employee’s work performance and other situations as necessaryInitiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between departmentsAssist with resolving personnel situations: coaching, guidance, investigating, identifying solutions, and recommending actionOwn and execute associate develop plans and complete performance reviewsFlexible work schedule including overtime and other shift hours as requiredDirectly supervises assigned department and provides backup to others

Job Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS: 

Bachelors of degree or international equivalent in Engineering, Business or other related field equivalent experience2+ years in managing operational teamsTravel – up to 10%Must be bilingual in English and Spanish for both reading and writing. Must have ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education – MBA is highly desirable.   5 years minimum experienceKnowledge of LEAN manufacturing conceptsKnowledge in Operation financesComplete Knowledge and practical use of Microsoft office applications
