SUPERVISOR - EMERGENCY BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

Summary

Supervises and directs the activities of staff to ensure that safe, high quality, and efficient services are provided.  Interviews, assesses, and selects candidates for vacant positions.  Completes probationary and annual performance evaluations.  Approves leave requests. Completes weekly schedules.  Assesses training needs of staff and provides educational opportunities for staff development.  Orients, coaches, and disciplines staff in accordance with established standards of care, performance expectations, and program and hospital policies and procedures.     Coordinates behavioral health emergency services with LifeBridge's inpatient behavioral health units, the Emergency Departments, and other hospital departments.  Regularly meet with key ED staff to ensure effective and efficient coordination of services.  Coordinates with LifeBridge inpatient psychiatric units to ensure effective and efficient coordination of services.  Meets with outside agencies to ensure effective communication during assessment and disposition.     Provides oversight supervision for clinical and clerical administrative staff.  Oversees the operations of the Behavioral Health services at Northwest Hospital.  Regular on site observation at the hospital with the intent of identifying and implementing processes and procedures to improve efficiency and quality of care.  Develop and ensure standardized practices.  Maintains a pool of qualified clinical and clerical staff to fill open shifts, both anticipated and unanticipated.  Regularly assesses whether the size of the pool is sufficient to fill open shifts.  Develops methodologies to share resources between hospitals in order to maximize staffing.  Responsive after hours to find individuals to fill open shifts, address clinical and/or administrative issues that arise, and to provide support and direction to staff.  Develop and ensure standardized practices.      Conducts and documents high quality behavioral health evaluations at Northwest Hospital Provides psychiatric evaluations at Northwest Hospital.  Communicates and coordinates with Providers to determine proper disposition.  Coordinates discharge planning for those patients who do not meet inpatient admission criteria.   Qualifications: 3-5 Years of experience Master's Degree Licensed RN, Social Worker or Psychologist
