About Cadia


Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

Who we’re looking for

Reporting to the Lead – Health, Hygiene & Emergency Response, the Team Lead – Emergency Response will manage and assist 24-hour site coverage by Emergency Response Officers, casuals and the Emergency Response team by ensuring the operational readiness of appliances and currency of team competencies. 

The team lead will mentor Emergency Response Officers in the duties and functions required of a team lead to ensure robust and competent site coverage when required.

Key responsibilities include: Providing direct on-shift and indirect on-call supervision to all site and Contractor Emergency Response staff within the Emergency Response Department.Ensure timely, appropriate and effective fire and rescue response to all incidents ensuring appropriate use of resources, including volunteers, ensuring strict compliance with protocols and procedures. Always ensure, safety of the rescuers and bystanders comes before rescue and all appropriate PPE and PPC is in good condition and used/worn appropriately.Ensure high standards of routine maintenance, cleanliness and preparedness of all emergency response resources, by delegating areas of responsibility inclusive of diligent record keeping, handover portfolios and reports as necessary. Encourage research to provide advice on new technologies, areas for improvement and cost savings in allocated areas of responsibilities.Co-ordinate on scene rescue activities being aware of team capabilities.Prepare and deploy Emergency Response Teams at an Incident.Schedule team and individual development scenarios to upskill and maintain team cohesion and currency in all skill sets. Ensure current Role Descriptions are in place and reviewed annually.

 

Our ideal candidate will be a safety leader and operate transparently with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. In addition, must be able to liaise and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.

You will also possess the following: Diploma or Degree in Paramedicine (AHPRA Registered) or industry experienceCert II or III in Public Safety (Firefighting Operations)Cert III in Mine Emergency Response and RescueSupervisor/Frontline Management training or equivalent

 

Please note: This is a 7/7 day shift only residential role in Orange, NSW.
