The Shift Supervisor, also known as the Battalion Chief, reports to the Director of EMS. The Battalion Chief performs a variety of administrative, supervisory and technical work in guiding the direction, implementation and continuous monitoring of the EMS department’s operations; Serves daily as the Shift Commander and is responsible for the management, training, command and direction of the daily operations. The Battalion Chief oversees quality of patient care including patient care reports, equipment management, station maintenance, apparatus maintenance, supply management and training. Following NIMS command structure, the Battalion Chief will assume command for incidents Northwest Health EMS is called to mitigate. The Battalion Chief must maintain a high standard of work ethic, discipline and efficiency to help mentor team members and to act as a role model.
**Required:**
+ Graduate of an accredited High School or equivalent
+ Valid driver’s license
+ State of Indiana Paramedic OR EMT - National Registry Paramedic or EMT will satisfy this requirement
+ 3 years of Pre-hospital provider experience
+ BLS (CPR)
+ NIMS 100,200,700, & 800
**Preferred:**
+ ACLS Instructor
+ PALS Instructor
+ BLS Instructor
+ PHTLS Instructor
+ State of Indiana Primary Instructor (PI)
